This course is intended to be an introductory workshop to cross stitching. We'll begin the course by viewing a presentation on the history of cross stitching (and how it fits into the larger context of folk art and craft.) We'll be viewing examples of early cross stitching. My focus is: how needle work/ crafting in general has been historically dismissed by high art spaces; but the beauty of it is how it's a result of collective knowledge (and that anyone can learn it!)
