Experimenting With Artificial Intelligence In Your Writing Practice
Monday, July 31st, 2023 at 7pm PST
This workshop aims to introduce those who write to the new wave of AI tooling. Jacqueline Garrahan, a machine learning engineer and writer, will cover a brief history of AI development, how large language models work, and how language functions as space. Attendees will explore the way that knowledge (and bias) is encoded in modeling and collaborate with ChatGPT directly to create a short piece. We aim to challenge the adversarial narrative surrounding AI applications and highlight their ability to expedite the first draft process in plot work, character development, and idea generation.
Bringing a personal laptop is encouraged, but not required.
