Folding Into Earth: New Works by Ian Riccardo

Folding Into Earth orbits the anxieties of contemporary life in a metropolis through a multitude of found objects, sculpture, experimental video. Ian Riccardo uses materials symbolic of his families ecology, and urban waste. Riccardo's focus on ceramics remains a constant thread throughout the show. Found objects like tires, discarded corn cob from the local tamaleria , concrete, and other freeway findings to create a surrealist amalgam that strengthens the already present ceramics foundation. The boundaries of his work explores his cultural identity, psychological archetypes, performance art, sound art, and physiological meditations.
